Gordon Ramsay’s First Florida Restaurant has Opened in Orlando
Renowned celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay opened his first Florida restaurant earlier this month, right in the heart of Orlando’s ICON Park.
Ramsay’s new restaurant is called Gordon Ramsay’s Fish & Chips. Orlando marks the restaurant’s second location after the first opened in Las Vegas back in 2016 (it’s maintained a 4.3/5 star-rating on Google ever since).
“Fish & Chips is a really important dish to me, not only is it quintessentially British but it was part of my upbringing,” the British chef, who has earned 16 Michelin stars over the course of his illustrious culinary career, said of his fish & chips concept. “I’ve found a way to elevate that classic dish, dress it up and really modernize the experience. I’ve had 3 stars in Chelsea [New York City] for over 2 decades, 2 stars in France, restaurants around the globe — but my mum is most proud of the chippy.”
The new Orlando restaurant’s full menu (which can be seen here), offers a fast-casual, take-away spin on the classic British dish. Combos, which come with natural sea salt chips, sauce, and a fountain drink, are highlighted by breaded shrimp, chicken, lobster, and of course, the classic cod. Prices for combos range from $16.99 for basic chicken or fish combo to $21.99 for a lobster combo. The restaurant also serves a range of beers and seltzers, and some of Ramsay’s trademark sweets.
“Fish and chips was a real tradition for me growing up, so I’m excited to deliver that same nostalgia to all the local residents and tourists here in Orlando,” Ramsay said in a statement not long before the Orlando location opened its doors.
